ecoJersey Parish Clean-Up

“Many individuals are doing what they can. But real success can only come if there is a change in our societies and in our economics and in our politics.”
David Attenborough
Inspired by the work of people like Sir David Attenborough, we have created the ecoJersey publication as a platform to focus on the current environmental issues. The quarterly magazine is a reflection of what islanders are doing to make Jersey and beyond greener. The magazine has gained wonderful accolades, winning 2019 magazine of the year award. It has truly acted as a guide to Jersey’s environmental initiatives and inspires others to make positive changes when they see the incredible work individuals and companies are doing.
The ecoJersey Clean-Up has been a core part of ecoJersey from the start. The main focus of ecoJersey is making our community better and moving that message outside of our publications and into the streets was incredibly important. As litter can have such devastating consequences for our land and oceans, we asked volunteers to help us clean Jersey up.
With the support of our corporate sponsors, we were able to support seven different locations and collected over 250 tonnes of rubbish. We had over 300 islanders spread across the locations picking up litter from beaches, country lanes and town squares. In a time that is still uncertain with COVID and restrictions, we were thrilled to be able to get outside, do our part and have fun!
We will continue to build the ecoJersey publication and hope that the clean-up events continue to gain awareness and spread the critical mission of protecting Jersey for years to come.
